Play N Trade Support Center-Canada Trains New Franchise Owners

The Video Game and Consumer Electronics Company does an extensive training program for North Vancouver BC, Saskatoon SK, and Ste. Therese QC, Play N Trade stores.

San Clemente, CA (PRWEB) July 31, 2013

Play N Trade has developed a strong training program for new franchisees. The five day on-site training took place after previous training at the Canadian headquarters. The training is led by Martin Tardif, President of Play N Trade Canada, Executive Vice President of Training and Support.

The training covers the entire lay out of the Play N Trade franchise everything from the video game industry as a whole, to running a successful business is included in the extensive curriculum. Tardif provides specific training to the new franchise owners on daily operations, marketing, distribution and vendors. Advance in-depth training includes knowledge on the new CRM-Podio, and its programs, advantages, and how to use it. The training consisted of seventy percent hands-on, and thirty percent observation, with store visits to local Play N Trade stores in the area. The visits were concentrated toward operations, marketing, customer service, how to protect yourself from theft, managing employees, planning goals, consumer electronics, and the Alice point of sale system with inter-store transfer capabilities.

“This extensive training provides a huge benefit and added value to new franchise owners”, said Martin Tardif. “To train a group of new franchisees is always a new and unique challenge. Some franchisees come with loads of experience in business with an in-depth knowledge of the video game industry. While others are light on experience in management and business, and even sometimes with a different language and culture. Adapting to those realities by offering the best experience to our franchisees is the most rewarding aspect of a franchisor’s life. There is nothing more satisfying than a group of franchisees pushing to improve their performances while giving their input about improving overall process and systems; this is why the franchisor can adapt faster to the market. I have been truly impressed by this group of new franchisees in Canada, and I can guarantee these guys will raise the bar higher. I wish them great success.”

Tardif has owned and operated several Play N Trades in the Sherbrooke area and has been EVP of Support and Training since 2012. In addition to training programs, Tardif has implemented a process he developed for Play N Trade called Franchise Business Improvement Plan (FBIP), a unique process which includes store analytics and benchmarking for each franchise owner. This is a system wide outreach program involving conference calls to franchisees, insight into all reporting, corporate staff being utilized for marketing services, an overview of projected profits, with the continued support of stores through every stage of their business cycle.

New Jersey Play N Trade Stores Hold A Customer Appreciation Day For Retro Gamers

Retro Consoles and Retro Games are in Demand by Nostalgic Gamers and Play N Trades Throughout New Jersey Deliver By Honoring These Players With a Customer Appreciation Day.

San Clemente, CA (PRWEB) July 17, 2013

New Jersey Play N Trades are rewarding their retro gamers with a customer appreciation day on July 27, 2013; they are offering discounts on all retro merchandise including buy 2 get 1 free on select games, 10% over on retro trade-ins, and 25% off retro consoles. Retro gaming has taken up steam in the last few years and gamers are searching for these types of consoles and all those hard to find games. New Jersey’s demographic just happens to have the right mix of consumers both retro and next gen. For the retro gamer all classics such as Atari, Sega Genesis, and NES are in high demand, yielding sales on eBay but without the guarantee Play N Trade offers. Stores also allow try-before-you buy so it is a secure purchase. These consoles and games capture a market that is similar to the antique collector to which each console and game have a sentimental value.

New Jersey gamers search for retail stores to buy these collections and unfortunately mucking around the internet and delving though forums are too time consuming and do not produce the needed results. Other video game chains quit stocking NES, Genesis, SNES, and Playstation 2 within the last five years or so. Play N Trade stuck to their grass roots and expanded their retro section instead of downsizing it. They are known for keeping a well-stocked inventory of retro systems and games. Anthony Cardella, owner/operator of Play N Trade in Jackson, New Jersey had the following to say, “Just the other day I had a seventh grader come in a purchase an Atari. Retro is making a big impact on trade-ins and my merchandise is always increasing.”

Play N Trade has also spent a significant amount of time researching a brand that would best represent the retro side of Play N Trade Video Games. Hyperkin rose to the top of the list by their innovative ideas and capabilities. Hyperkin’s RetroN 5 console will play NES, SNES, Genesis, Famicom, and Game Boy Advance. It will also play Super Famicom, Mega Drive, Game Boy Color and Game Boy. Play N Trade and Hyperkin will provide a launch date for the next release of the retro console when available.

As a full service video game and consumer electronic store PNT supports customers in all their gaming needs, including new and retro merchandise. New Jersey Play N Trades are located in Jackson, Mahwah, Garfield, Glassboro, Moorestown, Marlton, and Mt. Laurel.

The CEO’s Vision for Digital Ownership is Justified by Xbox One DRM Public Backlash

CEO of Play N Trade, Charles Beaupre and Franchisee Craig Ackerman, share their thoughts on Xbox One’s decision to remove DRM

San Clemente, CA (PRWEB) June 28, 2013

Mr. Beaupre has more experience in the video game store franchise than almost any other CEO in the world. His vision of the industry has always been ahead of his time and as CEO of Play N Trade his job is to steer franchisees in the right direction. Mr. Beaupre has always been an advocate of digital property ownership and describes his philosophy simply as “you buy it, you own it.”

The news about Xbox One removing DRM clearly proves that Mr. Beaupre’s insight is on point and one of many reasons he was chosen to spearhead the Play N Trade organization. Charles Beaupre comments on the news, “We think there should be no difference between owning a digital product and owning a physical product. The video game industry is changing a lot more than just consoles; it has now become a defender of digital rights. Trade-ins should exist even in a digital distribution world. We have always seen the used game trade-in model as a viable market for improving new game sales. The news was positive, however, the future of our model includes plans that go well beyond traditional trade-ins of used games. Our future plans include mobile gaming, mobile accessories, digital distribution, and a prevalent in store repair center for mobile electronics at each store.”

Mr. Beaupre’s philosophy along with the support of the franchise owners provides even more reasons why gamers choose to support their local Play N Trade. This Robin Hood ideal that Play N Trade has so clearly displayed is the voice of gamers, no matter the age. Play N Trade as a company has plans for moving forward including mobile devices in its model and digital distribution. The franchise model provides valuable insight from over a hundred intelligent entrepreneurs with hundreds of years of combined experience. Each store’s business owner perspective relies on full involvement and strives towards optimal success. That aggregation of entrepreneurial spirit and love for the industry has led Play N Trade to becoming the voice of both their local community and gaming population.

Craig Ackerman, owner/operator of the Play N Trade in Comstock Park, MI had the following to say: “This announcement means that we can continue to provide many services that make up the backbone of our business: try before you buy, tournaments, and used game sales. Also, many of our loyal Xbox customers live in rural areas where broadband internet access is not a financially viable option. This announcement means that they can continue to enjoy the wide variety of games that are available only within the Xbox community.”

With the launch of the next generation, Play N Trade stores will certainly have insight and knowledge to what the best choice will be for consumers.

Play N Trade Launches Refueled for its Franchisees

Refueled is a program benefiting the Play N Trade system by initiating a sell back option on all consumer electronics.

San Clemente, CA (PRWEB) May 13, 2013 – Play N Trade has launched a premier program that allows franchisees to trade in their consumer electronics to corporate for credit toward royalties. Refueled is a cost effective way for a franchise owner to save on royalties and to increase cash flow. Consumer electronics include all cell phones “dead or alive,” tablets, and portable media players. It also provides an internal market of consumer electronics for owners that need to purchase items.

This program is effective immediately and available to all stores. Since its introduction many franchise owners have participated and have capitalized on this initiative. However, the program will re-launch May 15th, 2013 with a widespread internal media campaign and a courtesy corporate call to inform all franchisees of this exciting opportunity.

Jeff Lawrence, jeff.lawrence(at)playntrade(dot)com, Manager of Consumer Electronics at Play N Trade comments about this initiative, “Refueled fits the new consumer product base with the option to sell back to corporate rather than reselling items that may be less than desirable. This eliminates the burden of sitting on inventory that is less than desirable such as scratched items and bad phones with ESN’s (electronic serial numbers). Additionally, an added bonus to the franchisee is to keep good items for sale and trade in items that are not selling internally. In addition, this is the most cost effective way to save on royalties.”

Since the introduction of consumer electronics in every Play N Trade worldwide, there has been an ongoing process to improve the “buy back” policy. Refueled is this type of program, as it allows the franchisor to reduce their royalties per month, and eliminate unwanted inventory. This also improves the ability to take in any consumer electronic that a customer may bring in which include scratched, broken and outdated items. This keeps trade in dollars at a high rate and customer satisfaction on the forefront. Refueled supports our stores by having every Play N Trade saying to their customers, “Yes! We Buy It.”
